The pain has spread
like pollen
And just like a clingy
lover
It wraps every cell
And goes round and
round
Getting intricated and
messy
Like a distractedly
woven web
Where life wanes
And faith is slurped
malevolently…
The pain has spread
all over,
From head to toe,
And reclaim more
attention as minutes go by,
Patience gets weaker,
Happiness dehydrates
Like corpses sprinkled
with tons of salt,
Breathing costs a bit
more each day,
Smiling is just a blur
memory coined
In shrunk brain cells
Tense and alert
Waiting for its
executioner to wake…
The pain has spread
all over,
Like the night over
the sky,
Like a loud prayer
exhaled from a broken mouth,
Opioids are obsolete,
Like a cashmere
sweater
Reduced to rags in the
tumble dryer…
The pain has spread
all over
Like rivers infected
by red-bellied piranha
Nobody in his right
mind would try to wade…
The pain one day came
to visit me,
And it found my
insides so cozy,
It decided to move in,
Furnishing everything
with sorrow and despair.
